Title: Learn how to subtracts two, two-digit numbers and regrouping.
Hook: More on top...no need to stop! More on the floor...go next door, get ten more! Numbers the same...zero's your game!
Goal: Use the standard subtraction algorithm to subtract a two-digit number from a two-digit number. Learn how subtracting a two-digit number from another two-digit numbers is just an extension of the algorithms for subtracting one-digit from two-digit numbers.
Objective: Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
Activity:
1. TAKE THE PRETEST-THIS MUST BE FINISHED FIRST before going on to any other steps.
2. Press play to watch the subtraction with regrouping video.
3. Follow along with the video by trying out the equations in your math notebook.
4. Take the quiz.
Summary: In summary, when starting to subtract in the ones place value, and you notice that there are not enough ones in order to do so, you must regroup one ten as ten ones in order to subtract a number of greater value in the ones place. This is a valuable skill learn because you will use this skill the rest of your life. This skill will help you subtract money, time and other amounts in a quick and accurate way.
